Abstract:
On May 27, 2023, the respected Bulgarian geographer Prof. Dr. Rumen Penin turned 65 years old. He was born in Septemvri (1958), where he completed his primary and secondary education. In the period 1978–1983, he was a student in the “Geography” specialty at the Faculty of Geology and Geography of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, while at the same time acquiring a second specialty “History”. From 1983 to 1985, he was a geography teacher at 7th secondary school “St. Sedmochiselnitsi”, and from 1985-1989 he was a full-time graduate student (doctoral student) at the Department of “Geochemistry of Landscapes and Geography of Soils” at the Faculty of Geography of the Moscow State University “M. V. Lomonosov”.
